Winter Activities

HELISKI
A service that is unique in the whole Alpine region. You take off from Cervinia in a helicopter and fly over the peaks of the ski circuit. You then land and, accompanied by guides and expert off-piste ski instructors, you ski surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, with the great peaks close enough to touch, and breathe the pure air found at 4,000 metres, all of which combine to make this downhill experience unforgettable.

MOUNTAINEERING
Climb a mountain, face the cliff pass after pass, a challenge against time, the cold and exhaustion. These are the emotions that the mountains have to offer and in Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche you can try in safety thanks to the collaboration of the Cervino Guides, for excursions, advise, courses to improve and perfect technique, excursions with overnight stay in mountain huts immersed in the peace and quiet of the nature at the top of the mountain.

ICE CLIMBING
Have you ever seen a frozen waterfall? It’s a spectacle not to be missed; a crystal wall with a multitude of reflections. Silent, cold, solemn and the thrill of climbing it, tackling it step by step. Here in Cervinia you can climb in safety, accompanied by the Cervino Guides. For mountain enthusiasts, an experience not to be missed.

TELEMARK SKIING
There has always been telemark skiing (‘free-heel skiing’) at the foot of the Matterhorn, both on and off-piste, with trails to suit all levels of ability. The ‘angel turn’ is a timeless legend that is celebrated in this ski district with a number of events during the season.

SKI SCHOOLS
Over 200 ski instructors teach in Cervinia and Valtournenche. Our ski schools – all of which are staffed by instructors who specialise in teaching downhill skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing and cross-country skiing – organise private and group lessons using the most avantgarde technical equipment and teaching aids.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
Whether you prefer diagonal stride or double poling, whatever your level of ability, narrow skis are at their best in the valley of the Matterhorn, thanks to the many scenic trails that cross unspoilt countryside covered in natural snow and dense forests.

TANDEM PARAGLINDING
Fly over the ski circuit’s pistes wearing skis. Tandem paragliding is one of Cervinia’s main attractions for those looking for that rush of adrenalin on holiday. You’ll fly with one of our experienced instructors. Flights take off from Plan Maison, in the Pancheron area (at the chair lift arrival station) or from Plateau Rosà. Prior booking is required.

ICE SKATING
Ice skating in the centre of town on a specially prepared natural ice rink with a view of the Matterhorn: the rink is open until midnight (and equipped with artificial lighting) and you can even book a game of curling or organise hockey matches. Open November to March.

NIGHT SKIING
A romantic dinner in one of the restaurants along the ski circuit’s pistes and then an unforgettable downhill ski in the moonlight when there’s a full moon.

SNOWPARK
Known as ‘IndianPark’, Cervinia’s snow park is located in Plan Maison and its vital statistics are truly mind-boggling: 400 metres long and 100 metres wide, which guarantee a freestyle area of over four hectares (nine acres).

ICE KART
Located on the edge of town, this ice karting circuit is made of natural ice and is open to the public day and night (with artificial lighting). Children’s go-karts are also available (over six years of age). You can even organise races against your friends and fun group challenges.

FREERIDE SKIING
Fresh, soft, powdery winter snow: whether you’re on skis or a snowboard. That’s the beauty of freeriding: that feeling of being free to turn where the only tracks in the snow are yours

WELLNESS
After a day spent skiing, or even if you just want to spend a whole day relaxing, there is nothing like the pleasure of recharging your batteries after having tired yourself out with work or play in the district’s many health spas and wellness facilities.

INDOOR WALL CLIMBING
The Valtournenche sports complex has an indoor climbing wall you can use to keep fit or just if you want to try a new sport, suitable for children too.

One of the attractions more particular it’s dog sledding, which translates tours sledding beautiful husky, dogs by fierce look and the unmistakable blue eyes. A "journey" that reminds Alaska, Canada, but who also lives in Cervinia, an experience in close contact with nature, immersed in the silence of snowy paths where the only sounds are those produced by the race of these beautiful animals and the Sleigh.’s skates.
